We are working on two new semi-detached houses located on a site overlooking the Sound of Jura on Jura’s West Coast, close to Feolin Ferry. The site is located in the same position as a set of abandoned stone walls, once dwellings also. We have been working with the client to design a single bed and two bed house and will start work on site in the spring of this year. The new design is deliberately conservative, designed to sit comfortably within the footprint of the ruins and in harmony with the coastline and environment. The houses will be faced with stone taken from the old walls. All energy requirements are met from the clients local hydro scheme.
